REALITY CHECK

If our goal is $10,000 a month, What is it going to take to get there? So many people I speak to, think this is a simple goal and that anyone who has a good website makes at least that. Well reality check, Yes its very obtainable, but its not easy and it will not happen overnight. Webmastering and e-commerce do not happen overnight unless you sink thousands into advertising for an explosive grand opening. Is it worth spending thousands on ppc advertising not knowing what kind of return on investment you will make? NO, its really not, unless of course you have money to burn.

Why not SEO your site from the beginning and start with more of an organic approach until you figure out what search engine terms convert the best and then perhaps do some PPC advertising? Do yourself a favor and save some advertising dollars to begin with.

This is a road I have been down plenty of times on my own, with my own websites. My writings reflect my own sites, things I have learned over the past 10 years. If you have the inclination to go on your own and try your own thing, by all means, do it! My passion in life is teaching SEO and the basics all the way up to writing an mod rewrite on an .htaccess file. Any of you experienced webmasters know that making any website search engine friendly is no easy task and a very long process.

By taking my advice I think you will save yourself some time, money and a lot of effort. Lets start with some very simple math based on making $10,000 gross monthly.

$10,000 / 4 weeks = $2,500 weekly goal
$2.500 / 7 days a week = $357.12 a day (The internet never sleeps)

So now we know that to hit our goal of $10,000 a day it takes $357.14 a day. This is just the beginning, we have a number, lets see what it takes to get there.

Lets take a conversion ratio of 1 in 500 and an average take home of $20.00 after the money is divided up. Please keep in mind that everything converts differently, this is just an example.

Its going to take 17.857 sales a day to hit $357.12, Now converting at 1 in 500, that means we need 8,928 visits sent to the sponsor a day with 1,440 minutes in 24 hours that is 6.2 visitors per minute to the sponsor.

So how is this for interesting? I personally find it very fascinating. Can this be achieved? Of course it can, is it easy? No, absolutely not. I mean think about it, if it was that easy everyone would do it. Of course you are going to make money, that is the entire point.   Start with your own content, not copy and pasted content.

Over all I think this helps with goal setting and people come to an understanding that this is not an easy thing to do but will certainly help with goal setting

Keep doing what your coach has left you with. Remember that your site will never go anywhere without links to it. If all else fails, find links for your site. Read up on link exchanging on our site and do that. Your site has to have have hard-links from other sites to it and the truth is, without links your site will never be established. I am a big fan of Link Exchanged Its a great way to get links to your site.

Its important for you to know, that just because you are out of phone calls does not mean we will ever forget about your site. It simply means that the calls you originally paid for are used up and we can not schedule anymore one hour sessions. Of course we will still help you though!

Wordpress - You can’t be without at least one blog. I personally know some of my associates the run dozens of blogs. Blogs are very search engine friendly and if you have been a client of mine, You know that I am big on NOT PAYING FOR TRAFFIC. SEO is the key to owning and operating a successful business. Many of the times, I have my clients start with Wordpress.

Wordpress has got to be one of the best platforms available for all kinds of websites. Its original design is meant to be used as blogging platform and that’s really what most use it for. There are a lot of exceptions to this rule though. There is a plug-in that can be found on the resources page that can allow you to add multiple products to your blog and turn it into an e-commerce site. How cool is that?

With Wordpress there is a pinging feature that allows you to setup a list of many places for your install to “ping” out to. Basically every time you make a post on your site it notifies the places on this list that you updated and they crawl your site. This is one of the many reasons Wordpress does so well with getting search engine traffic.

Register Your domain name

Just like the title says, Register your domain name. I prefer to use Directnic for my domain names. I cant stand how GoDaddy tries to nickle and dime you to death when you register the domain name. I cant count how many times people have said they use GoDaddy to register their domain names because they are cheaper. In the end, they walk out paying $3.00 more to a deceptive company. Directnic charges $15.00 per year and has excellent support. I have used them for years and the couple times I have had to put in trouble tickets they are answered within a couple hours.

Keyword Research

Using tools like the SEO BOOK it is easy to find out what gets searched for and what doesn’t. We will be posting videos in the future.

Use the tool to find out what words or terms are searched for the most. For example, If you typed in the term Credit Card, You would see that it gets searched for about 3,924 times a day. This tells me that when you break through and get the term “Credit Card” that there would be plenty of traffic to make a very nice income. Research your niche and keywords before and after you purchase your domain name. If you can have a keyword or two in your domain name, that is all the better. Just do this within reason and try not to get domain names that are two miles long.

Stick with .com or .net names, These seem to do the best with the search engines. The more research you can do on your niche the better!
