Find Products!
Ever wonder how we come up with the suppliers? There is a company out there called OneSource and I have to say that it is the second best resource that I have used on the internet when it comes to e-commerce. Actually, by saying it is really my second resource is not comparing apples to oranges, so to speak. My favorite and most used tool is the SEO book and the link to that can be found on the resource page. But the seo book is not used for e-commerce, rather keyword searching for SEO. OneSource is a website that catalogs hundreds of real drop shippers and light bulk wholesalers. They keep it constantly updated, with REAL information with phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses and information about that supplier.
Do I really need this? If you are serious about product research and having a true e-commerce store then, yes you do! Chances are likely that your coach will be able to find you some company information for a supplier. Your time with the coach is limited and you don’t want to spend it all looking for drop shippers or someone for light bulk wholesaling.
One of the keys to being successful is picking something that interests you. Whenever I log into worldwidebrands and launch the OneSource program I never know what I will come up with. It’s seriously amazing all of the information that is available.

I was on the phone with a friend named Sam and we had been struggling to find a niche for him. Sam is a very motivated guy that really is going to succeed. I was browsing around OneSource looking for a product for him. There is a meter that they use and it gives you the market saturation for EBAY and the internet of the product or category that you are on. I clicked on sewing machines and the meter went into the green and says Good Chance. Being a webmaster of 13 years makes me skeptical of things like this. So, I visited this wholesalers website, grabbed the brand names that they sold and checked eBay for myself. Sure enough! Not very many at all. So, I talked to Sam about it and he was very interested and eager to setup his eBay store. We then called the phone number listed for the wholesaler and a week and a half later he had their wholesale list and was ready to go. The markup looks good, about 25% between cost and retail. Sam is having a valve replaced in his heart on the 13th of February, So we have not setup his store quite yet. Soon as he recovers we will get him setup with a eBay store so he can start making sales.
Our goal with Sam is to start selling on eBay and take some customers from there back to his website, gotta drive that niched traffic for the good conversions!
Anyone that has had one of us coach them, knows that we don’t say it unless we have done it. It is safe to say that 13 years of website building has left me with some experience. My client Joe calls me one day and tells me about this place he found that indexes all of these drop shippers and wholesalers, I was skeptical, to say the least. Joe was on the hunt for a couple drop shippers and wholesalers and was having troubles finding a real wholesaler. When he told me about these guys, I recall saying something like this “Joe, man save yourself 300 bucks and lets just Google it”. Well against my advice he paid and joined them. After telling me about them several times and showing me the drop shippers he had found, I was glad he went against my advice. Since then, I have my own account and have referred a few people to it. So far everyone loves it.
As everyone knows I make my living coaching and teaching REAL ways to make money online. I wont post a lie or take part in a lie or manipulative advertising. As a matter of fact, I am pretty open about calling BS when I hear it. Most of the time, I am pretty discreet about it. To be straight forward with you, these are affiliate links that go to OneSource but we are proud of the fact that we use them and I would tell anyone that.
They offer a LIFETIME membership and you need to consider this, the get rich quick thing selling e-books is more or less a joke. Sure you can sell some e-books and make a few bucks, there is nothing wrong with that. But OneSource is a place for REAL business owners to find products, Not people trying to get rich quick. OneSource is currently around $270.00 to join, Just so you don’t get sticker shock when you click to their sign up page. Its business and its real, it costs money.

I can get a list of drop shippers on E-Bay. Yes, if you want outdated information that is pure garbage. There are so many fake lists out there its not even funny. There is even fake wholesalers / drop shippers that portray themselves as these big places that give you the best deals. If you don’t research who you are doing business with, you will get taken to the cleaners. Google them, Yahoo them. Do whatever you can to find to research your product. I say this a lot, but its the bottom line truth!
In closing, I hope every one of our clients joins OneSource and I really wish that it would be included in the packages that people buy, but its not and that is out of my control. Give them a look to start your REAL online business and you really will not be disappointed. It impresses me every time I login and I am a 13 year veteran webmaster.

My 2 Cents
If you don’t mind Brandon, I would like to add a comment on a statement you made. You stated earlier in this article:
“There are so many fake lists out there its not even funny. There is even fake wholesalers / drop shippers that portray themselves as these big places that give you the best deals. If you don’t research who you are doing business with, you will get taken to the cleaners”
This is something that happens everyday in the drop shipping industry, I know because of experience. I run a shopping cart site and I actually thought I had a decent drop shipper that was great, talked a good talk, told me what I wanted to hear.
So without hesitation, I put their products on my site (220 items) and decided to try and sell on eBay. Well I actually did pretty good, Sold 15 items my first week with them. So here’s my bad story…
I get a total of 15 orders the first week, I think the total was around $215, I then take my portion and send the rest to the drop shipper to fill the orders for my customers. Well needless to say, the drop shipper didn’t fill the first order, so not only was I out the money I sent the drop shipper to fill the order, I also had to refund every customer their money. All in all, I came out losing about $125 total.
As for OneSource, I don’t think many folks now, including Brandon, but they actually send their people to these drop shipping sources and interviews them and checks their warehouses to make sure they are legit, checks their state licenses, the works.
My advice to anyone going to start a site that uses drop shipping, Test them out, have friends and family order a couple items to see how well the do with time, filling orders, and customer service. Well, thought I would give my 2 cents. Best of luck to all in your online adventures.
